Sub Club
I have been wanting to make it to sub club for some time now and finally last weekend I was in town so a visit was a must.
Why oh why did I wait so long?
Sub Club is brilliant and with a line up of Harri & Dominic, Matthew Dear and Andrew Weatherall it was one of the best nights I have ever been to.

Abandoned
On Wednesday I visited the former Iraqi embassy in Pankow which was abandoned in 1991. Abandoned as in, right that’s work done for the day lets leave everything and never come back, sort of like the time I worked at Sizzler and they shut down over night keeping my pay cheque and the cheese toast.
It was a little sad to see that some idiots just can’t help themselves and had to go in and destroy everything they could get their slimy hands on and tag their name everywhere like a dog marking its territory.

Marcus Vector
A couple of weeks ago I had french dj and producer Marcus Vector in the studio.
I love the challenge of shooting portraits, having only a couple of hours to meet someone build a connection and produce some great images.
Here are a couple of my favourites.
Amsterdam
Last week I spent four beautiful days with three other gorgeous women enjoying the beauty of Amsterdam.
Bliss.
Missibaba
The day before I left Cape Town I spent the morning photographing at the studio of Missibaba a luxury accessory design label established in 2005 by leather aficionado Chloe Townsend.
Chloe and her team produce some beautiful bags and accessories with fantastic bright prints, they radiate happiness!
I turned up wearing my latest thrift store purchase which turned out was Chloe’s grandmother, she had donated it to the Salvation Army store where I bought it.
Small world!
Decay.
Yesterday I went on a little adventure to Beelitz-Heilstätten.
Originally built as a tuberculosis sanatorium it was converted into a military hospital during World War I by the German Imperial Army.
It’s slightly creepy and in parts still smells like a hospital.
I am looking forward to getting back there soon!

Joe.
I was met with a lot of love in Cape Town.
The story of how I met Joe is a long one, so in a nutshell:
I had a meeting about 40 min away from Cape Town so like the city girl I am I had it all planned out, jump on the train then grab a taxi from the train station to the office park about 5 km away.
Easy.
However I was in Africa and a thirty min train ride lands you basically in the middle of
nowhere, to my delight there was a shipping container acting as an office for the local taxi company when I enquired about actually hiring a taxi I was met with a blank stare and “A taxi? No not here, you would be better off to catch the train back to Cape Town and get one from there”
My meeting was to start in 15 minutes.
Enter stage right Joe, who runs a recycled building yard the only thing near by. He kindly agreed to drive me to where I needed to be, waited for me to have my meeting and drove me back to the station (we got lost on the way, had the wrong address and the only phone number I had was for the companies office in Namibia)
Joe is a beautiful man who started his business two years ago with €200 euro and a lot of love, two years previously to opening the yard Joe survived a car accident that lead to him losing his architecture business that employed over thirty people and supported his wife and two children.
My meeting was a success but somehow I suspect this meeting with Joe was the one I was really was ment to have.
I returned a couple of weeks later to photograph him at work.
Khayelitsha
Khayelitsha is a beautiful part of Cape Town, I didn’t visit until close to the end of my trip.
I wish I had of discovered the area earlier as I would have loved to spend more time there.
Next time.
