Mentor Sessions – Street Photography Berlin

Photography Mentor Workshops – Street Photography Berlin New York

Until the end of 2013 I will be in NYC!

Want to learn how to translate what you see into a really great photograph?

I will teach you how to start doing more than look, how to slow down and to start really seeing what is going on around you.

This course is designed for people who already have and SLR and have some knowledge of how to use it but would like to move beyond the basics.

Each course is tailored to students’ needs and learning levels.

However you can expect to learn about:

  • The relationship between shutter, aperture and ISO – and how they work together to create an exposure.

  • How to achieve depth of field and capture blur/movement.

  • How to use leading lines, rule of thirds and other crucial composition tools.

  • How to set up your camera so that you control it (and not the other way around).

  • What focus points are and how they can improve your shots.

  • How to translate what you are seeing into a strong photographic image.

  • How to interact with the people you are photographing.
  • How to tell a story through your images.

Your teacher:

As part of the invite-only, Notting Hill based, Debut Contemporary collective, Katrina’s work has been exhibited in Berlin, LA, London and Sydney, and she is the two-time winner of ArtSlant’s Showcase Award.

Some things people have said about my street photography sessions:

“I felt I learnt more and my learning was supported by being the only student. I learnt technical skills as well as gained more confidence in a setting to get the images I wanted.  You were very patient especially if it took me a while to understand what u were teaching me and if i wanted to practice the same technique over and over again. You gave positive reinforcement, you didn’t make me feel like an underachiever, you kept on building me up. I learnt a lot, thank you.” – Meriaam

“I just wanted to say thanks again for an incredible experience – my  senses have not been that stimulated for ages……Followed another of your tips and arrived at some decent results – reflection shots – loved the way the picture fills up with what’s in front of the lens AND what’s behind as well. Thanks for an inspiring day Katrina, it was a pleasure to meet you! – Ted”

“Katrina is super knowledgeable, warm and willing to answer any questions specific to your camera or level of photographic knowledge. By the end of the tour I had picked up plenty of tips, had taken some good shots, and had that warm and fuzzy feeling of inspiration! Exactly what I was looking for :) ” – Kimberley
